Audrey Hepburn's Breakfast At Tiffany's Inspired Prizes l DIY
3.21.2011
Back in February, I had a request to create the game prizes for a
Breakfast at Tiffany's
Theme Bridal Shower in Boston, MA. Arts and crafts are right up my alleyway so I couldn't be more ecstatic about it.
Michael's Craft Store
is great for any DIY projects so I instantly went there for the supplies I needed. (Have to mention they have weekly 40% coupons for any non-sale items). I found square shaped boxes with lids on sale for $1.25. Once I arrived home, I started of the project with wrapping the boxes with a Tiffany blue colored wrapping paper and included a white ribbon just on the lid to replicate the look of the Tiffany’s box. If you plan to cover any box, my suggestion is to use double-sided tape when wrapping the boxes because there's no drying time. In addition, it won't show any visible air bubbles that glue can sometimes leave.
The great thing about creating your own gifts bags is that you can fill it with whatever you like. I packed the bottom of the boxes with newspaper and covered the pile with shredded white tissue fillers to provide height for the items inside. To each box, to fit in with the theme, I put the stylish 1961 Audrey Hepburn movie, Breakfast at Tiffany's, a bottle of white wine, a bag of Cracker Jacks, an eye mask, a box of chocolate (which I wrapped the same as the exterior box) and couple strands of pearls.
Each Tiffany's themed box cost around $20 to create. This project was affordable and a lot of fun to make. Seeing the thrilled expression on my client's face after she saw the finished product reminded me of why I love doing what I do!
